Razzia

Gérard Courbouleix–Dénériaz, known as Razzia, born in Paris in 1950, is one of the greatest artists in the world of advertising posters and illustrations of the second half of the Twentieth Century. His career began in the 1970s, when he tied his signature to some of the most important brands, especially French and, in particular, Louis Vuitton. His style vividly evokes the breath of Art Déco, the golden age of the European and American poster.

The original subjects of Razzia's posters are handmade in oil or acrylic, with a pictorial technique, without the use of computer graphics, completed and enriched in the silkscreen transposition from the text, always carefully studied and properly placed. The result is at the same time rétro and modern, persuasive and incisive, sensual and strong-willed, effectively communicative. Among his most important clients were Louis Vuitton, Stetson, Lancia, L'Oréal, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Harrod's, the Nice Jazz Festival, the City of Deauville and many Champagne producers. His posters are appreciated and collected by the United States, Europe, Australia and Japan.

L'Estampe gallery is one of the few in the world that Master Razzia has selected for the sale of his works in the most precious edition, made on aluminium with a refined silk-screen printing process with thermal sublimation, which gives the best chromatic effect to these splendid compositions, drawn for large formats with only 250 copies, signed, numbered and guaranteed by the author. In the wake of the great success of these works, in the spring of 2019 at our gallery, Master Razzia presented a world preview of the small format (about 20x15 cm/8x5 inches) aluminium print runs limited to 500 copies, also signed, numbered and guaranteed by the artist.

Of course, we also handle and always have in our wide assortment the original posters on paper, signed by hand by the Master.
